Pastor Bobby Joe
Bobby Joe has served as the Pastor at The Bridge since it all began in 2007. He was saved at the age of eight and surrendered his life to ministry at nineteen. Before pastoring adults, he spent ten years serving as a youth pastor and has traveled all over the world on mission trips. Bobby Joe also enjoys building old VWs in his spare time. He has been married to his wife, Whitney, since 1997, and together they have four children. His heart is for Rogersville and Hawkins County to come to Jesus and experience the freedom that’s only found in Him. Bobby Joe is passionate about seeing men come to Christ and watching marriages and families be restored and welcomed into the family of The Bridge Church.
John - Associate Pastor
John has been serving at The Bridge since our very first service, faithfully leading worship for over fifteen years. Though he grew up in church, he didn’t fully surrender his life to Christ until he was nineteen, a decision that still shapes the way he leads and loves people today. John has been married to Carla for thirty years, and together they have two awesome children, a great son‑in‑law and daughter‑in‑law, and the best grandson ever. Outside of church, John has spent the past twenty‑seven years as a paramedic, a role he is deeply passionate about because it allows him to care for people in their most vulnerable moments. One of his favorite things about The Bridge is that from the moment you walk in, you’re treated like family.
Andrew - Worship Leader
Andrew has been serving as the Worship Leader at The Bridge since January 2022. He began a personal relationship with Christ in 2012 and grew up in ministry as the son of a pastor in a family that loves to sing. Andrew and his wife, Ashton, have been married since 2021, and he is the father of four children. He has enjoyed serving on the Worship Team at The Bridge since 2016. His favorite thing about The Bridge is the family atmosphere — ‘You won’t do battle alone here at The Bridge. There will always be someone loving on you here.
Frankie Chesser
Building & Grounds
Frankie has been serving at The Bridge since the beginning. He serves on the Leadership Team, the Building and Grounds Team, and has spent many years investing in the youth and children’s ministries. He also has a big heart for the Greeting Team. Frankie was saved at the age of ten, but chose to make God Lord over all on Easter Sunday in 1998. He has been blessed with his wife of thirty-seven years, Tracey. Together they have three beautiful children and one awesome grandson. Frankie loves fishing, but his favorite part of The Bridge is loving on his church family and watching them grow closer to God. He especially loves giving and receiving hugs.
Mike Chesser
Administrative Pastor
Mike Chesser and his family have served at The Bridge Church since 2012. He has served in the sound booth and on the leadership team as the Administrative Pastor. His wife Tracy sings and plays piano on the Worship Team. Mike and Tracy have two daughters: Abby Garland and Chloe Chesser, along with their son-in-law Blake Garland. All of them attend The Bridge together. Mike has worked in ministry at several churches and served as a houseparent for the Tennessee Baptist Children’s Homes in both the Millington and East TN campuses. Mike and his family choose The Bridge Church because of the freedom to worship and a passion to serve others.
Aaron Flanary
Technical Director
Aaron earned a bachelor’s degree in Production and Technology from Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU). He has worked in post‑production audio and on numerous live television events, and has served as a Technical Director since 2010. Aaron is married to Kresant Flanary, and together they have four children. He has been a Christian since he was a young child. What he appreciates most about The Bridge is how faith leads to action—serving others as the hands and feet of Jesus and giving God glory for the ways He is working in our community.
Wes Trent - Discipleship Leader
Wes Trent and his family have been serving at The Bridge Church for the past year. Wes serves on the Leadership Team, leads the Discipleship Team, and is active in the men’s ministry small group. Both he and his wife, Tia, faithfully serve on the audio/visual and media team, using their gifts to support worship and communication at The Bridge. Wes and Tia have been married for twenty years and are blessed with one daughter, Josie Lee. They bring with them a strong foundation of leadership from their previous church and a shared heart for ministry. Wes was saved at the age of twenty‑five and has since served in both local and foreign mission work, always carrying a passion for discipleship and spiritual growth. One of the greatest blessings in Wes and Tia’s lives has been leading their daughter to Christ this year and having the honor of baptizing her. They are grateful to serve alongside a loving church family and to be part of what God is doing at The Bridge Church.
Brett Daniel - Youth Director | Associate Pastor
Brett serves as an Associate Pastor at The Bridge and has led our student ministry as Youth Pastor since the summer of 2019. He came to faith in Christ in 2004 and has loved serving in ministry since 2008. Brett has been married to Jessica since 2007, and together they have three boys who keep life fun and full. His favorite part about The Bridge Church is the sincerity and freedom he feels every time we gather. The Bridge has helped his faith in Christ grow deeper and has given him some of his dearest friends.
